PEZZOLATO HACKERTRUCK: FAST DELIVERY AND CUSTOMISED SET-UP
Pezzolato offers a revolutionary formula for high-power chippers, which combines fast delivery times with the possibility of customising the machine.
In fact, with just a few months’ wait from the order, it is possible to purchase a chipper on a truck, customising its set-up and specific equipment: engine, type of cab, drum size, position of the hydraulic fan, and the possible presence and position of the hydraulic log splitter.
Among the chippers on trucks marketed with this new formula are the ‘Hackertrucks’, in which the drum is driven by the truck’s own engine, thus eliminating the auxiliary engine, lightening the vehicle and increasing its mobility. These chippers are highly valued by large contractors, who have high hourly production requirements and need to be able to move quickly to distant work sites.
Pezzolato Hackertrucks are set up on three-axle trucks and, depending on the equipment and configurations, can comply with the legal 26-tonne mass or exceed it if, for example, the installation of a hydraulic log splitter or for drums with a width of more than 120 cm is required.
Depending on the customer’s preferences and requirements, these chippers can be equipped either on Man 6×6 trucks with 520 horsepower (13 litres) or Volvo 6×4 trucks with 650 horsepower (16 litres).
Hackertrucks with Man engines can be prepared with a converted cab or in the version known as ‘Tornado’, thus equipped with a rotatable high-visibility cab, the possibility of moving along the woodpile without interrupting the movement of the drum and a hydraulic fan in the centre of the truck.
Hackertrucks with Volvo engines, which are significantly more powerful, can be fitted with a converted cab and, as an option, can have remote driving from the operator’s workstation (as in the video in the link below). If requested, the vehicle can be configured as a Tridem version, ranging from a 6×4 with 650 horsepower to an 8×4 with 750 horsepower.
